What is a 10 seconds timer?
The Timerdial 10 seconds timer is a full countdown already set to 10 seconds: press start and it rings, keeps the screen awake, and shows the time left in the tab title. Ten seconds is the shortest interval a timer is worth opening for, and it exists mostly as the last stretch of something longer — the count before a recording starts, or the hold at the end of an exercise where the seconds have started to matter.
In other units that is 0:10 on a clock, 0.1667 minutes, and 0.002778 of an hour, so 360 of them fit into an hour and 8640 into a day.
Because the finish is stored as an absolute clock time rather than counted in ticks, the countdown is exact after a spell in a background tab, and the alarm is booked into the audio clock the moment you press start — which is what lets it sound while the tab is frozen.

Is ten seconds long enough for hand sanitiser to work?
No. Alcohol hand rub needs to stay wet on the hands for at least twenty seconds to do its job, and most people stop at eight. Ten seconds is roughly the point at which it feels finished and is not, which is why the twenty-second timer exists.
How many seconds is 10 seconds?

Will a 10 seconds timer still ring if I switch tabs?
