What is a 9 minutes timer?
The Timerdial 9 minutes timer is a full countdown already set to 9 minutes: press start and it rings, keeps the screen awake, and shows the time left in the tab title. Why is snooze nine minutes and not ten?
Because mechanical alarm clocks used a fixed gear that landed just under ten minutes, and manufacturers standardised on nine rather than redesign the movement. Digital clocks copied it, and it is now a convention with no mechanism behind it at all.
